At some point in our life we've all heard the recommendation to take care of our mind, body and soul, but what does that mean exactly? Taking care of our body and doing it well means tuning into its needs. Some needs are fairly easy to notice - hunger, thirst, sleep. But others add up over time and you may not even notice them until all of a sudden when they make themselves known in a big way. Sometimes things we have done for years all of sudden no longer work. I have discovered that for myself in the last few years once I slowed down enough to really pay attention. Foods you are eating may now end up being toxic for you such as dairy, gluten, sugar or even some of your favorite foods. I found out my body really doesn't like pineapples! Muscles and joints may not be so happy to just launch into activities without some good stretching. Sometimes organs just kind of wear down like adrenals or thyroid. Paying attention to the physical body is important. I have noticed how much happier my body is when I eat and sleep well and do regular maintenance work by getting chiropractic adjustments and massages. We all know what it is like to experience stress. Our minds can go a mile a minute leaving us agitated and tired. Sleep eludes us. Our digestive system isn't happy. We may end up turning to alcohol or medications to try and get that calm back. I'm sure you have also noticed that when your mind is upset, your body follows right along reinforcing that mind to body connection. The connection we often miss as we go about our everyday life is the soul connection to our overall well-being. Most of us have had the experience of working in a job that we didn't like, living some place that we didn't like or just feeling like something was missing. This is the soul connection. Our soul does talk to us but often we aren't still enough to hear it or we ignore it because it is trying to tell us something we don't want to hear. We have also had times in our life when we felt truly happy, charged with energy, optimistic and even glowing. Yes, glowing. That was your soul light beaming forth. When we squelch our soul's needs, the discontent backs up into our mind and body. The longer we ignore our soul's needs, the worse things get. The mind, body and soul are all linked. I have already mentioned some things to do for your body such as eating right, sleeping, massage, etc, Meditation, walking in nature, doing something you really love can help your mind and soul. Another regular practice you can get into for your mind and soul is receiving an energy healing session. Just like muscles can get cramped and kinked, energy can stagnate in your body. Taking the time to get that energy flowing again can really help your overall health. When I work with a client doing an energy session, I will pass on messages that I get for them which often speak to the needs of their soul. I have seen the changes in clients that have had regular sessions as their mind, body and soul became more connected. They were happier, more resilient, in better physical health and more attuned to their overall well-being. So the next time that you are thinking about the things you can do to take care of yourself don't forget to try an energy healing session. You just may be surprised at the results!
